Roger Kent Billiter, 78, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on July 24, 2026. Born in Kokomo, Indiana, Roger lived a life defined by adventure, dedication to family, and a deep love of the water.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he served as an armed forces courier. After his military service, he went on to earn his degree from the University of South Florida and built a long career with the FMC Corporation, from which he retired early to fully embrace the next chapter of his life.

In his younger years, Roger raced hydroplane boats, an early sign of his lifelong love of speed and the water. That passion evolved into a deep devotion to deep sea fishing, and for many years he and his family kept a home and boat in Fort Pierce, Florida, where they spent countless weekends and summers together on the water. An avid traveler, Roger took great pride in having visited most of the United States' national parks over the years. In more recent days, he found joy in simpler pleasures, often seen taking his daily golf cart rides through his neighborhood in Chandlers Landing in Rockwall, Texas.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Lois Billiter, and his son, Kent Allen Billiter.

Following cremation, a private ceremony will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Roger will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of the outdoors, and the joy he brought to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Roger took great pride in the work his son was doing through EquiHope, an organization dedicated to bringing the healing power of equine therapy to children and veterans with special needs and disabilities.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Roger's memory to EquiHope.
